NEW YORK (PIX11) — As many kids and teens gear up to head back to school next week, it’s not uncommon for them to feel a bit anxious.

The anxiety usually intensifies in the week right before classes start, but it’s hard to tell between back-to-school jitters and real anxiety, according to Dr. Jodi Gold. Parents can shift bedtimes or focus on the fun parts of returning to school to help their children.

Gold provided some other tips during an appearance on New York Living Wednesday morning.
