NEW YORK (PIX11) — Celebrities are using social media to post their thoughts and feelings on the grand jury decision not to indict the officer in the death of Eric Garner.

Since the ruling, thousands have filled the streets of New York City, including Roc Nation artist J. Cole and director Spike Lee.

Lee has been an active voice throughout the protests for Eric Garner and Michael Brown.

Many celebrities took to Twitter and Instagram to voice their disappointment in the grand jury decision.

Azaelia Banks posted her thoughts on the case with a similar spin — taking aim at fellow rapper Iggy Izalea.

Banks’ tweets regarding Izalea’s silence on hot topics like the Eric Garner and Michael Brown cases sparked outrage throughout Twitter.

The Australian rapper later acknowledged that “all hell broke loose” while she was at rehearsals around the time the grand jury verdict was announced.

Azalea’s lack of empathy for the Eric Garner set the Twittersphere on fire.

By Thursday morning, “Iggy” was trending on Twitter along with #ICantbreathe #EricGarner and #Blacklivesmatter.

After thousands tweeted about their anger towards Azalea, she went on the record about the hateful messages she’d been receiving.

She then posted about ways people can get involved and help their communities.
