Jessica Lowndes started April Fools early and almost tricked everyone, almost.
The “90210” actress announced on Instagram over the weekend that she found love with comedian and “Saturday Night Live” alum Jon Lovitz.
The relationship shocked everyone, especially because of their 31-year age gap. Lowndes and Lovitz didn’t officially announce who she was dating at first, but announced to her fans how happy she was to have a “new man” in her life. She even snapped a photo of a possible engagement ring.
Lovitz broke his silence on the relationship Sunday with a picture of him and Lowndes with the caption: “Easter with my bunny, @jessicalowndes !!!”
They quickly shut down a hater who said he was dating his “daughter.”
But there was something fishy about the new Hollywood relationship. Lowndes posted a photo of roses that fans later pointed out was a background photo found on Google. And aside from how sudden it all was, their announcement was also made a few days before April Fools.
Model Chrissy Teigen also suspected the couple’s announcement was a hoax.
“All the smarties know to start f**** with people now for a successful April fool. Hell I started months ago,” Teigen tweeted.
Finally, Lowndes revealed that the two are in fact…not in love. The fake relationship with Lovitz was all to promote her new music video “Deja Vu.” Lowndes and Lovitz actually play a couple in the video, but they aren’t one in real life.
