Lauren Cook is the executive producer of digital content at PIX11 News. She joined PIX11 as a digital content producer in January 2020 and was promoted to executive producer in February 2022.
Lauren has covered New York City and tri-state area news as a digital producer and editor for more than 13 years. She got her start as a digital content producer at News12 in 2010 before joining CBSNewYork as a web content producer in 2013. Lauren became the features editor for CBSNewYork’s Best of New York section while continuing to report on local news, culture, and events in the New York City area. She joined amNewYork in 2016 as the digital news editor, with a focus on crime, politics, transit, and cultural “only in New York” news.
Lauren graduated from SUNY New Paltz in 2009 with a Bachelor of Arts in Communications and Media Management. During her studies, Lauren also contributed to the student-run campus television station, WNPC-TV. She served on the executive board as programming director and station manager. During her senior year, she received the Club President of the Year Award for her outstanding leadership as station manager of WNPC-TV.
More recently, Lauren and the PIX11 Digital team won the 2021 national Digital Innovation Award for PIX11’s coverage of the COVID-19 pandemic. Lauren was also part of the News 12 Interactive team when it received the New York Associated Press Award for Best Website in 2011, 2012 and 2013.
