    A young man was shot dead in the Bronx Wednesday evening, police say. Michael Beltre, 17, was found in the face on Jerome Avenue just after 7 p.m. Beltre was rushed to Saint Barnabus Hospital where he was pronounced dead. No arrests have been made.

    NEW HYDE PARK, LONG ISLAND (PIX11) – A Nassau County police officer was shot after responding to a home invasion in New Hyde Park early Wednesday morning. The incident happened at around 1:30 a.m. The officer was shot in the hip and is said to be in critical but stable condition. Officials say they have two suspects in custody. Nassau County police have also recovered multiple weapons from the suspects.
