
Geovany Dias Silva has worked in news since 2011.
His news career began in his hometown of Belém do Pará, in Brazil. Prior to joining PIX11 in 2020, he was a U.S.-based network correspondent at Globo International, the second largest commercial TV network in the world.
As a trilingual journalist, Geo has been covered stories in English, Spanish, and Portuguese. In 2022, Geo was received the “Serving New York Award,” offered by the New York Broadcasters Association, for his work on the coverage of Pride Month. In the same year, he also received a Master’s Degree in Journalism from the University of Alabama.
Immigration and concerns involving the Latin-x community are main parts of Geo’s work at PIX11. He also is a member of the National Hispanic Journalists Association.
