THE BRONX — Five people were shot in two Bronx shootings nearly 15 minutes apart on Friday night.
The first shooting took place at Ryer Avenue at approximately 7:43 p.m. Friday night. The victims were an 18-year-old shot in the leg, a 40-year-old woman shot in the buttocks and a 24-year-old man shot in the back. The victims were taken to St. Barnabus Hospital and were listed as stable.
Officers said they were sitting outside when two men approached and started firing for unknown reasons. The shooting is still under investigation.
A second shooting took place at 8:01 p.m. at the intersection of East 238th Street and Richardson Avenue. Two people were shot and were taken to the hospital, and again listed as stable. That investigation is also ongoing.
