Gun violence becomes key issue in Queens DA race

KEW GARDENS, Queens — Despite major crime in New York City being at a record low, gun violence is up.

The borough of Queens has seen an 8.6% increase in shootings alone.

Queens Borough President and District Attorney candidate Melinda Katz unveiled her plan to combat the gun violence, saying her office will partner with community organizations and faith based groups to address the problem
