One worker dead, two injured after shock at New Jersey construction site: officials

WOODBRIDGE TOWNSHIP, N.J. — One construction worker died Friday and two others were injured when they were shocked at a construction site in Woodbridge Township, N.J. when a metal pole hit a high tension power line.

The incident happened at 187 Quincy Court when a siding contractor was putting up scaffolding when some of the metal hit the power line, officials said.

A crew from PSE&G, under the supervision of OSHA, was removing the pole Friday afternoon.

One of the two injured workers was reported to be in critical condition.

PIX11 did find safety violations connected to the contractor, though they were years old.
