Penn Station renovations impact trains and riders

MANHATTAN — The Tuesday after Labor Day means commuters are heading back to work.

This season, they will find construction and changes in the main Long Island Rail Road concourse.

A new entry is being built along 7th Avenue at 33rd Street. It is set to be done sometime in 2020. It will make the facility more accessible.

Amtrak has competed another summer of work. That allows the LIRR to restore 14 rush-hour trains on Tuesday. NJTransit will bring back some trains that were changed earlier this summer on September 9th.

The bar and grill known as Tracks closed this past weekend because of the remodeling work. It will open later this fall on West 31st Street across from Penn Station.
