LOWER EAST SIDE — An investigation was underway Tuesday after bones were discovered at a Manhattan construction site, according to police.

Authorities said it was unclear if the bones were from a human or animal.

The bones were found around 11 a.m. at a work site near the corner of Forsyth and Rivington streets, right by Sara D. Roosevelt Park, on the Lower East Side, police said.
