MANHATTAN — Police are investigating the death of a man whose body was found near a public pool in Central Park. Authorities suspect he was killed.
The NYPD said the unidentified victim, who was apparently homeless, had suffered head injuries indicating he was the victim of an attack. The death was ruled a homicide on Wednesday.
The body was found under a blanket on Tuesday by a camp counselor in an enclosed area overlooking Lasker Pool. The pool is located near the northern edge of Central Park.
Police said the man appeared to be in his 30s and had no identification on him.
