Crews remove vehicle from giant sinkhole in Brooklyn

BUSHWICK, Brooklyn — Crews removed a vehicle from a giant sinkhole in Brooklyn Thursday morning.

It happened in the vicinity of Evergreen Avenue and Decatur Street in Bushwick.

The sinkhole blocks off about two lanes of Evergreen Avenue in front of apartments and near businesses.

Crews located a break on a 30-inch sewer running under Evergreen Avenue. Repair work is underway, according to the Department of Environmental Protection.

No injuries were reported. Businesses have water and sewer service.
