Vietnam vet gifted Staten Island ‘smart home’

STATEN ISLAND — A community of family, friends and complete strangers gathered to say thank you to Sgt. Mike Sulsona on Tuesday.

The Vietnam veteran, who lost the use of both of his legs at the age of 19 when he stepped on a landmine while on patrol in central Vietnam, was presented with a custom-built, mortgage free “smart home” by the Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation.
