ASBURY PARK, N.J. — Summer is a week away, and the PIX11 Morning News is kicking off Field Trip Fridays!
Join PIX11’s Byron Miranda and Jill Nicolini at the Asbury Park Boardwalk as we celebrate the Asbury Park and New Jersey communities.
We’re hanging out at the Langosta Lounge, situated on the boardwalk, known for attracting a melange of artists, surfers, musicians and lovers of salt air and sandy toes. Langosta Lounge dishes up seasons, local and coastal inspired cuisine.
We also had the chance to hangout with PDUB the Producer, known to have developed a unique brand of reggae music, fusing classic rock and pop elements with contemporary island sounds.
Of course, a trip to New Jersey wouldn’t be complete without hearing music from Bruce Springsteen. The E Street Shuffle, the world’s greatest Bruce Springsteen tribute band, has blown audiences away with their performances of The Boss’ songs.
What’s music without talking about the Legendary Stone Pony? The world-renowned venue opened its doors in 1974 and has been going strong since.
If you want to enjoy the beach vibes, there's also The Wonder Bar. It's a true classic in Asbury Park, known for great live music, tasty food and the world famous "Yappy Hour," where dogs run the show.
Looking for some fun and games for the kids?
Asbury Park Amusements is a great place to have fun and cool down during the summer. It's Asbury's only splash park and mini golf course!
There's also the Silverball Museum. All games are set to FREE play with an entry pass. That means NO COINS REQUIRED!
Not sure what to do during the summer vacation? Asbury Park looks like it's a great, local place to hang out!
