2 pedestrians hit by bricks when scaffolding breaks loose in Midtown

MIDTOWN — Two pedestrians were injured after scaffolding came loose from a building in Manhattan.

It happened just after 9 a.m. along West 39th Street near Fifth Avenue, fire officials said.

Two pedestrians were hit by bricks, fire officials said.

They were taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The two workers on the scaffold were not hurt, fire officials said.
