Volunteers begin annual count of horseshoe crabs with NYC Parks Department

Horseshoe crabs have been around for a couple hundred million years. They`re older than the dinosaurs. The New York City Parks Department wants to make sure they`re comfortable.
For nearly half a billion years, some creatures have called the New York area home.
Limulus polyphemus are older than the dinosaurs.
The NYC Parks Department wants to make sure the horseshoe crabs are still comfortable.
Volunteers joined stewardship outreach representatives to monitor horseshoe crabs along the Brooklyn shoreline.
