Teenage boy fatally shot in Irvington, NJ

IRVINGTON, NJ — A teenage boy was fatally shot in Irvington on Wednesday, officials said.

The 18-year-old victim was repeatedly shot on Clinton Avenue near Linden Avenue, less than a 10 minute walk away from Irvington High School, shortly before 3 p.m., officials said. He was rushed to University Hospital in Newark, where he was pronounced dead at 3:27 p.m.

Officials identified the teen as Marquise Jenkins.

Surveillance video obtained exclusively by PIX11 shows he had a backpack on when he was shot. A witness said she heard at least five shots.

The Essex County Prosecutor's Office is investigating the shooting.
