Did you know San Valentino, better known as Saint Valentine, was Italian? Perhaps that will inspire your Valentine's dinner menu this year.
PIX11's Bonnie Schneider headed to Eataly in Manhattan to learn from the best, Lidia Bastianich.
Lidia is a partner at Eataly, and also an author of many best-selling cookbooks, restauranteur and host of the hit show "Lidia's Kitchen."
The famous chef's suggestion for a homemade Italian dinner for Valentine's Day? Her delicious spaghetti with shrimp marinara.
"Sharing food is a way to connect and nurture others with something you made," Lidia says.

Lidia’s Spaghetti with Shrimp Marinara (serves 4)
One jar of Lidia’s Marinara Sauce
One pound of Lidia’s Spaghetti
3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
3 large garlic cloves, sliced
1 pound medium-sized shrimp, heads removed
6 fresh basil leaves, shredded
Bring 4 quarts of salted water to a boil in a 6-quart pot over high heat. Cook Lidia’s Spaghetti according to the instructions on the box and drain well.
In the meantime in a skillet, heat the olive oil and sauté the sliced garlic until golden. Add the cleaned shrimp to the skillet, and toss quickly for 2 minutes. Pour in one jar of Lidia’s Marinara Sauce, and bring all to a quick boil.
Add the drained spaghetti to the sauce, toss well, and sprinkle with the fresh basil. Serve nice and hot.
