Bicyclist delivering food fatally struck by hit-and-run driver in Brooklyn: NYPD

CYPRESS HILLS, Brooklyn — A bicyclist on his way home from his food delivery job was struck and killed by a hit-and-run driver in Brooklyn, the NYPD said.

At about 1 a.m., the bicyclist, identified as MD Rajon, was near Atkins and Pitkin avenues in the Cypress Hills section of Brooklyn when he was struck by a white box truck.

The driver fled the scene.

The 21-year-old was pronounced dead at the scene.

Rajon moved to the United States from Bangladesh a month ago, according to his cousin Farzana Dalia.

Dalia told PIX11 News, “right now we are shocked by what happened.”

“He was a hard worker. Very nice person,” she explained.
