1 dead, 2 firefighters hurt after fire rips through Long Island home

MEDFORD, N.Y. — One person was killed in a fire that burned through a Long Island home Tuesday night.

The blaze broke out at about 10:30 p.m. at the Oregon Avenue home in Medford.

One man was found inside the residence, police said.

He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Two firefighters suffered minor injures and were taken to the hospital for treatment, said police.
