Four injured in electrical fire in midtown apartment building

MIDTOWN, Manhattan — Four people sustained non-life-threatening injuries in an early morning electrical fire in midtown Manhattan, the FDNY said Tuesday.

The fire began shortly after 6 a.m. in the basement electrical closet of a 12-story apartment building located on East 54th Street between Park and Lexington avenues.

Officials said high levels of carbon monoxide were detected.
