NYPD gives all-clear in Herald Square after suspicious package reported

HERALD SQUARE — Herald Square in Manhattan was evacuated Saturday afternoon as police investigated a suspicious package.

Authorities said an abandoned suitcase was left near the entrance of a subway station near 34th Street and Sixth Avenue.

The NYPD briefly closed 34th and 35th streets between Fifth and Seventh avenues between 6 to 6:30 p.m.
