Internet threat prompts increased security at schools in New Jersey town

ELIZABETH, N.J. — Authorities are increasing security measures at a New Jersey school district Wednesday following a threat posted on social media.

Officials said the threat circulated on Facebook and Instagram Tuesday night.

Elizabeth mayor Chris Bollwage said the city is aware of the threats and they have assigned police personnel to all schools in the city.

Elizabeth police are aware of the threats and ensure parents that their children will be safe attending school.
