Human remains found on Long Island

SOUTHAMPTON, N.Y. — Skeletan human remains were discovered on Long Island, police in Suffolk County said Tuesday.

The remains were found at about 1 p.m. Monday in a wooded lot located at 10 Hawthorne Road in Southampton, police said.

The remains were taken to the Suffolk County Medical Examiner and will be examined by an anthropologist, police said.

Further details about the remains have not been released.
