Skydiver who died after falling into barn ID’d as Long Island woman

ORANGE, Mass. — The skydiver who died in Massachusetts after she struck a barn last weekend has been identified as a New York woman.

A spokeswoman for the Northwestern district attorney on Wednesday identified the woman as 27-year-old Alexis Zays. Zays lived on Long Island but authorities did not provide a hometown.

Investigators previously said Zays “veered off course” before hitting the barn in Orange on Saturday.

She was taken to Athol Hospital before being transferred to UMass Memorial Medical Center in Worcester where she died Monday.

Jumptown Skydiving, which is based in Orange, had no comment.

The death remains under investigation.
