The PIX11 Morning News is LIVE from Coney Island, Brooklyn from 6-9 a.m. on Friday

CONEY ISLAND, Brooklyn — This Friday, we’re taking the PIX11 Morning Show on the road!

There’s no place like Coney Island. Known for its boardwalk, beaches and carnival-like spirit, it’s the jewel of Brooklyn.

The PIX11 Morning News team is exploring Luna Park, the NY Aquarium and the Coney Island Sideshow Circus to kick of Memorial Day Weekend!

Join us Friday morning to see performances from Smash Mouth and Taylor Dayne, the Brooklyn Cyclones, a New York’s very own kind of fashion show — and much more.

Summer swimsuit trends: With Memorial Day being the unofficial start of the summer, what better way to hit the beach than with the latest summer swimsuit trends? Best-selling author and lifestyle expert, Jene Luciani  joins us with the trends you’ll see when you’re lounging by the pool or tanning at the beach.

Performances: Coney Island is known to have musical performances during different events. You never know who you'll run into! We chat with singer-songwriter and native New Yorker, Taylor Dayne. Known for hit songs such as "Tell It to My Heart" and "Don't Rush Me," Dayne hits the stage at Coney Island.

Neighborhood Eats: When you stop by Coney Island, grabbing boardwalk food is a must! We're joined by Tom’s Restaurant, a family owned business that has served breakfast all day since 1936, Nathan’s Hot Dogs, a Coney Island staple, and Rita’s Italian Ice, whose gelati custard was actually invented in Coney Island!

Hometown Hero: City councilman and Brooklyn-native, Mark Treyger stops by and talks about the hard work he has done to make the Coney Island Boardwalk a city landmark. His wish has been granted, and the Boardwalk has made its landmark status.

Hometown Team: What's Nathan's Hot Dogs without a hot dog eating contest? Two hot dog eating champs join us for some tips on how to win and show us their talent in true style.

The Cyclone: You can't go to Coney Island without riding the iconic Cyclone! We're joined by several marines as many of them ride the roller coaster for the first time!

Tune in Friday morning and check out some segments from the LIVE show.
