Witness Kathy Scudillo said the car was moving fast.

“I was in my house and it was like a spaceship coming through, the car was going so fast," she said. “We stayed in the house and got down, we didn’t know what was going on.”

The Jeep Cherokee crashed into another driver and forced his car into parked cars. Priscilla Goday was crossing South 14th Street around 10:45 p.m. when she was pinned between two parked cars, according to the prosecutor's office.

Goday was taken to a hospital, where she was pronounced dead around midnight.

She was on the block visiting family. Goday had only recently been released from the hospital. She was in a car accident several weeks ago.

No arrests have been made. The Homicide and Professional Standards Bureau of the Essex County Prosecutor's Office is investigating.
