The fire broke out around 6:30 a.m. and was under control shortly after.

The fire chief said the structure is unstable and with the danger of collapsing, Northjersey.com reported.

Two police officers were treated for smoke inhalation, according to Northjersey.com.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Significant smoke and water damage to the home next door left the people living there temporarily homeless. Three children live in the home and they have no clothing to wear to school on Monday.

Local police are trying to help the kids get something to wear to school.
