Police shoot man who allegedly stabbed his sister in Queens: source

ROCKAWAY PARK, Queens — Police shot a 34-year-old man while responding to an incident in Queens Tuesday where the suspect allegedly stabbed his sister, sources tell PIX11 News.

Police arrived at the residence at Shore Front Parkway in Rockaway Park around 12 p.m. They found the man’s 32-year-old sister with multiple stab founds.

Three separate tasers were used on the man, but they had no effect on him.

The man charged at police who fired an unknown amounts of shots at him, striking him once in his right leg.

The conditions of the brother and sister are not known.

Police recovered a knife at the scene.

The culprit has extensive mental health issues, police said. He was treated at a psychiatric hospital and was only just released from Rikers on assault charges.
