Death of 76-year-old Newark woman being investigated as homicide

NEWARK, N.J. — Authorities are investigating the death of a 76-year-old woman in Newark as a homicide.

Adela Padilla was discovered dead around 7 a.m. Saturday inside her home on Summer Avenue.

The cause of death is pending autopsy by the medical examiner.

Her death is being investigated as a homicide.

No arrests have been made and an investigation is ongoing.
