Bomb squad clears suspicious package on PATH train at World Trade Center transit hub

MANHATTAN — The transit hub at the World Trade Center was shut down for about two hours Sunday afternoon because of police activity.

Officers on scene began investigating a suspicious package on a  PATH train shortly after 3 p.m., officials said. The bomb squad cleared the package around 4:30 p.m.

PATH service resumed around 4:50 p.m., officials said. Commuters should expect delays.

Workers in the Oculus mall report being told to evacuate quickly from their shops this afternoon.
