11 firefighters hurt in fire at Queens grocery store

GLENDALE, Queens — Eleven firefighters were hurt, two seriously, in a 4-alarm blaze at a 2-story building in Queens Saturday evening.

Smoke was seen pouring out of the building on Myrtle Avenue around 9 p.m. Officials say a Farmer’s Market is located in the building.

FDNY said nine firefighters suffered minor injuries and two others had injuries listed as serious. One civilian had a minor injury.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
