Fire tears through Morris Heights apartment in early morning blaze

MORRIS HEIGHTS, Bronx — A fire tore through a high-rise apartment building in the Bronx Monday morning.

The fire broke out on the 9th floor of the  26-story building shortly after 6 a.m., an FDNY spokesperson said. Firefighters are on the scene of the Sedgwick Avenue apartment battling the fire.

Six people were injured in the fire, an FDNY spokesman said. None of the injures were serious. Two people were treated on the scene.
