American Airlines plane hits another aircraft at LaGuardia; no injuries reported

EAST ELMHURST, Queens — An American Airlines plane backed into another plane at LaGuardia Airport Tuesday, Port Authority officials said.

The American Airlines plane was pushing back from its gate when its wingtip hit an American Eagle aircraft, operated by Republic Airlines, Port Authority officials said.

Customers have been moved to other flights.

“We apologize to our customers for the inconvenience,” a spokesperson for American Airline told PIX11. The airline is providing passengers with other flights.

No injuries were reported.
