Ex-wrestler Jimmy ‘Superfly’ Snuka died Sunday, just two weeks after a judge dismissed a murder case against him.

Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson announced the news on Twitter on behalf of Snuka’s daughter, Tamina.

“Our family @TaminaSnuka asked me to share the sad news that her dad Jimmy Snuka has just passed away,” he tweeted.

A Pennsylvania judge ruled that 73-year-old Snuka was not competent to stand trial on counts including third-degree murder in the 1983 death of his girlfriend, Nancy Argentino. She died of traumatic brain injuries and had more than three dozen cuts and bruises, according to her autopsy. The investigation into her death was reopened in 2013.

Snuka had been in hospice care before his death. His attorney said in December said that the former wrestler had just six months to live.

Superfly was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame in 1996. Other wrestlers, including Hulk Hogan, tweeted out messages in honor of Snuka.

It was not immediately clear what caused Superfly’s death.
