FARMINGDALE, Long Island — A man was arrested for allegedly punching and stabbing an employee at The Meetball Place on Long Island early Saturday morning.

Joseph DiGennaro, 25, of Farmingdale, was arrest and charged with assault and criminal possession of a weapon.

DiGennaro was a customer at The Meetball Place at 206 Main St. about 2:35 a.m. when an employee, 39, tried to remove him from the restaurant, police said.

DiGennaro allegedly punched the employee in the face and stabbed him in the back with a knife.

The employee was taken to the hospital and treated for two lacerations on his back, police said.

DiGennaro is scheduled to be arraigned on Sunday.
