UNIONDALE, N.Y. — A teen who was shot near Hofstra University earlier in the week died Friday, police said.

Alexon Moya, 16, of Uniondale, was shot in the head Tuesday night on Fenimore Avenue, a dead-end street that faces up against the university.

Moya succumbed to his injuries after being listed in critical condition for three days. He was pronounced dead at the hospital at 7 p.m.

Moya was not affiliated with Hofstra University.

Students who attend the university received an alert about the shooting around 12:17 a.m. Wednesday. The text read: “Nassau police has notified Hofstra of shots fired near campus on Fennimore Ave. Uniondale. Subjects have fled the area. Call 911 if you have any information.”

Police are still searching for two teenagers, believed to be between 16 and 18 years old, in connection with the shooting.
