HAMILTON HEIGHTS, Manhattan – Hamilton Heights mother Evelyn Lord told PIX11 News, she and her four children are in desperate need of repairs to her apartment.

"The biggest issue is that there is black mold throughout the whole apartment," she said. "The main issue as well is that they have a wall open where me and my kids were staying."

Lord's seven year old son has leukemia and asthma, and she says doctors have told them the mold in their apartment has added to his health issue.

PIX11 News reached out to the family's landlord Thursday for answers on when repairs might be made but we did not immediately receive a response.
