Search for armed men who entered Jackson Heights jewelry store, threatened employee

JACKSON HEIGHTS, Queens — Police are searching for multiple men who stormed into a jewelry store in Jackson Heights and threatened employee at gunpoint Tuesday night.

It happened at Kunal Jewelry located at 37-04 74th St., in Jackson Heights around 7:30 p.m.  after a call of a possible hostage situation.

When the attempted robbers entered the store, the employee fled to the back of the store and hit an alarm.

Police said the men allegedly ransacked the store but got spooked and ran away. Nothing was removed from the store.

By the time police arrived on the scene, the men were long gone.

There were no other employees or customers inside the jewelry shop.

Sources say police are looking for at least four men.
