KIPS BAY, Manhattan – Firefighters fought off a massive fire at a Manhattan apartment building Friday morning.

It began at 238 E. 24th St. in the Kips Bay section of Manhattan at about 4 a.m. The blaze has been mostly contained as firefighters battle remaining hot spots throughout the building.

The fire started on the 4th floor and spread to the 5th floor and the roof, FDNY officials said. Pictures on social media show the fire was mostly concentrated on the roof.

No injuries have been reported, FDNY said. The fire was not suspicious.
