BALDWIN, N.Y. —Police identified a 25-year-old woman as the victim of a Craigslist encounter gone horribly wrong.

Deanna Wingender was allegedly killed by 36-year-old Raphael Oyague after the two contacted each other through Craigslist and met up Tuesday night for sex, according to Capt. John Azzata, a detective with the Nassau County police homicide squad.

After fighting over compensation, Oyague allegedly hit Wingender over the head multiple times with a hammer, killing her.

He then dumped her body in a "grassy area" behind his residence on Grand Avenue, which is the same area her body was found in Wednesday afternoon, Azzata said.

Two delivery workers found Wingender's body behind De Francisco's Pizzeria and crime scene detectives were able to track "minor blood droppings" from the scene to Oyague's home.

Oyague has four prior arrests. He was arraigned Thursday morning in Hempstead. If he's convicted, he faces a sentence of 25 years to life.
