MANHATTAN — Police are investigating a smash-and-grab heist at a high-end watch store along Madison Avenue.

Police said two men walked in to Jaeger LeCoultre, at 701 Madison Ave., about 10:45 Monday morning wearing dark clothing, hats and scarves that covered there faces.

Armed with guns, they smashed a number of display cases and grabbed what they could. The duo then left the store and fled south on Madison Avenue as horrified employees called 911.

Police roped off the area for much of the day, gathering surveillance video from neighboring stores, which they have not yet released. It is unclear how much in value was taken from the store but the watches are priced upwards of $30,000.

The store will remained closed until the glass counters are replaced.
