NEW YORK – It was a special night at Madison Square Garden as the Knicks presented a veteran with a surprise gift just two days before Veteran's Day.

Luciano Yulfo is a retired sergeant first class of the U.S. Army. He served for 36 years and retired after suffering severe injuries in Afghanistan.

He has been on the waiting list for a service dog for 18 months and thanks to the Knicks' Hoops for Troops program, he finally got one.

The program honors the brave men and women across the tri-state area who have served or currently serve in the armed forces.
