Person hit by train at Times Square; train service disrupted

MIDTOWN, Manhattan — Train service on the N, Q, R and W lines is disrupted Wednesday morning following reports of a person hit by a train, officials said.

Northbound N and Q trains are running local from 34th Street – Herald Square to 57th Street. Northbound N, Q, R and W trains are all bypassing the Times Square station. Some nourthbound Q trains are terminating at Prospect Park.

The person was hit around 9:20 a.m., an FDNY spokesman said. No identifying information is available for the person and their status is not clear.

Commuters are being advised to allow for additional travel time.

A woman was fatally hit by a train in a separate incident the Times Square station on Monday. Police arrested Melanie Liverpool, 30, after she allegedly pushed a 49-year-old woman onto the tracks. The victim was fatally struck by a southbound 1 train.
