Oklahoma fugitive Michael Vance killed in shootout with police

Michael Dale Vance, Jr., the Oklahoma fugitive who authorities said shot two officers and killed two of his relatives last week, was killed in a shootout Sunday night, according to the FBI’s Terry Weber.

One officer was shot during the pursuit, according to Ellis County Sheriff Shane Booth. The officer’s condition is unknown at this time.

Vance, 38 of Chandler, Oklahoma, had been on the run since injuring the two officers in Wellston during a shootout on October 23, according to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office. Vance’s relatives were found dead later that night at an uncle’s home in Luther, just northeast of Oklahoma City, authorities said at the time.
