MIDTOWN, Manhattan — A trio of people robbed and beat a man in Grand Central Terminal late Thursday night, NYPD officials said.

The 46-year-old victim was walking down a set of stairs toward the 4, 5 and 6 subway lines just before midnight when two men and a woman began following him down the station steps, police said. The man fell down the stairs and hit his head. It is not clear if he was pushed or if he tripped.

He was allegedly punched in the face and threatened with a knife by the group of culprits, officials said. They allegedly took the victim’s wallet and then fled from the station.

The man was transported to Bellevue Hospital for treatment after the assault, police said.

It is not clear what was in the victim’s wallet, police said. The wallet has not been recovered and no arrests have been made. The attackers have not yet been identified by police.
