NEW YORK — Ride sharing company Lyft is partnering with Budweiser to offer free and discounted trips during Halloween weekend from Thursday to Monday night.

Rides will be free up to $10 this weekend with an offer code posted on Budweiser’s Facebook page. The code will be available on Thursday at 2 p.m.

The offer is valid on trips from New York to other locations in the tri-state area with the exception of New Jersey, as reported by

New or existing customers who are 21 or older can use the codes.

Codes will be valid through Halloween night, an effort to prevent drunk driving incidents as people celebrate the holiday.

The offer can be used during “peak party hours” from 10 p.m. until 2 a.m. on weekend nights, according to Budweiser.

Over 6,000 rides will be redeemable over the Halloween weekend.

Riders in Washington, D.C., Colorado, Florida and Illinois can take advantage of the promotion as well.

The Halloween promotion is part of an ongoing campaign, #GiveADamn, by Lyft and Budweiser to offer discounted weekend night rides in order to prevent drunk driving and related injuries and deaths. Each Thursday, 6,000 credits are made available on the Budweiser Facebook page and can be used that weekend in any Lyft vehicle.

The promotion will run every weekend until the end of the year.
