Video shows man who allegedly tried to rape Bronx woman walking home

SOUNDVIEW, The Bronx – Cops released new surveillance video in the attempted rape of a woman in the Bronx.

The 29-year-old victim was walking into her Soundview residence around 1 a.m. Tuesday when a man grabbed her from behind and put her in a chokehold, police said.  A struggle ensued and both fell to the ground, then the assailant allegedly hit her in the face and tried to sexually assault her.

The victim fought back. She kicked the man several times, scaring him off.

She was taken to a local hospital in stable condition.

The attacker who fled appears to be about 5 feet 9 inches, weighing around 150 pounds and has brown hair. He was captured on surveillance video wearing blue jeans and a grey T-shirt.
