QUEENS — A pregnant woman got a police escort to the hospital when she went into labor while on board a charter fishing boat off the coast of Queens on Wednesday afternoon.

The 65-foot boat was about two miles south of Riis Park when officers received a call for assistance just before 3 p.m., officials said. Two NYPD helicopters were dispatched to help the mom-to-be.

An Emergency Service Unit medic was lowered onto the boat to help the women, police said. The woman and her family transferred to an NYPD Harbor Unit, which took the family to shore.

EMS took the new mom to Maimonides Medical center in stable condition.
